Exploring the Difference Between 'Zumo' and 'Jugo': Are They Really the Same?

¿Zumo o jugo de zanahoria?

The words 'zumo' and 'jugo' are an example of the lexical differences between different Spanish-speaking countries.

Spanish is an official language in 21 countries on 3 continents: America, Europe and Africa. It is to be expected that there will be differences in the way things are called. In the food category we find many differences between countries.

In our example today, 'zumo' and 'jugo' are two ways of calling the drink that we extract from fruits or vegetables, like the one we see in the photo above, 'jugo' o 'zumo' de zanahoria [carrot juice].
